Heartache

Heartache: A Game of Love and Loss, is a 2D puzzle platformer that uses basic platformer mechanics and a combination of slow, complicated puzzles and faster paced reaction puzzles to explore the process of experiencing and overcoming tragedy. The player is assisted by a helpful AI character, Care, in solving puzzles and managing their energy reserves.

Heartache was designed, directed, written and mostly programmed by me, with additional programming by stolenlegos. All art and animations were created by CoralineDesigns. 

Heartache was created as a Capstone project for the American University Game Center Game Design MA. The game will most likely stop development after the Capstone is presented, which is in early May.

In game audio and sound effects: all sounds are royalty free and sourced from freesounds.com, zapsplat.com, and the Unity Asset Store. 

In game font: font for the UI is PIXEL font found on dafont.com
